Cardinals Fly High, hayes basketball Starts Off 1-0

The banner was raised before the start of the game for the 2016-2017 New York Catholic High School Championship. The Cardinals hosted their first game of the season against the Royals of Christ the King. After the tip-off, Hayes started off with two back to back three-pointers by guard Joe Toussaint and forward Tyrese Williams. Tyrese Williams started fantastically in the first quarter: scoring a team-high of 16 points and going four for four from the three point line.The place was alive after the first quarter, with Hayes leading 31-18.


Hayes’ Successful Season Even Without the Dream Ending

For any follower of the Catholic High School Football League (CHSFL), it is easy to define Cardinal Hayes’ success by their improved winning percentage. Their .800 winning percentage is an improvement from their previous winning percentage of .615. The Cardinals started the 2017 season by blowing out their first three opponents with a point differential of 13, 25, and 36 points.



Hayesman, Hayesman What’s the Count?            44-16, Hayes Eliminates Mount!

It was a Happy Thanksgiving for all Hayesmen when Hayes beat Mount Saint Michael for the fifth year in a row. The Turkey Bowl celebrated its 75th Anniversary on Thursday, November 23 and Hayes defeated Mount once again. The rivalry always heats up regardless of which team seems to have the upper hand. Mount Saint Michael boasts a 47-23 record over Hayes in the Turkey Bowl including five draws but that record was not reflected on the gridiron Thanksgiving morning. Hayes was quick to take the lead with a touchdown from Sofian Massoud to Elijah Jones ...

Lacrosse Summary and Interview with Coach and Captains

The Cardinal Hayes lacrosse team is coming off a historic year. In 2016, the championship team went 12-3 in the regular season taking the first seed for the first time ever. Going into the playoffs they ran through Bishop Loughlin and won the championship against Xavieran.


Football Season Wrap Up

The Cardinal Hayes Football team made it back to the Finals this 2016 football season, winning it this year against rival Archbishop Stepinac. Last year, the Hayes football team also made it to the CHSFL AAA championship game but unfortunately they lost to Stepinac. The memory of that painful defeat may have overshadowed most of the success they encountered in their 9-3 season.

You went through the Mets system and the Independent League.

Are there any expectations for the track season?

I have very large expectations. Last year I graduated a lot of key guys, but I have some sophomore sprinters and jumpers that broke a lot of records last year so if we can develop them in an effective way I think they can step up and be big.
