Travis Brooks '19

Travis L. Brooks is a Junior who attends the prestigious Cardinal Hayes High School in New York City. He is known for his love of writing and always exploring for more knowledge. As a vigorous student, Travis does not stop when he is faced with challenges. He has taken various honors classes and has been involved in numerous extracurricular activities such as, Cardinal Singers, Chess, Gaming Club, Big Brothers Club, Student Advisory Committee and Exceptional Children’s Program.

Aside from Cardinal Hayes he is involved with The National Society of High School Scholars, The Society of Torch and Laurel, The National Society of Collegiate Scholars and other community services such as tutoring, fund raisers and youth awareness (That’s more than 75 hours of community service). Travis plans to utilize his experience in The Challenger to perfect his writing skills and sharpen his understanding of society. After highschool Travis wants to attend Howard University for criminal justice. His goal is to become a well known attorney that helps the less fortunate. His favorite quote and motto is “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.”- Malcolm X
